When I was around 16, and that would be 1978, my asthma wasn’t getting better, and I had suffered an anxiety attack. At least I think that’s when I was put on something I was told were potassium drops. You put it in juice or something and it was supposed to break up some phlegm. Well, it seemed to work for me, but I guess they were discontinued around 1980/81? Does anyone remember this? Or heard of it? It did help me. And I wonder if there were adverse effects, or if something fishy was going on?? Anyone? Thanks

Potassium?
Never heard of it. Maybe it was Magnesium??
Only a GREAT, knowledgeable family doctor can assist you. I would go with a treatment of an albuterol inhaler and theophillyin. Get a referral to a pulmonary doctor for the best help as this is what I did and the past 5 or so years has been the best in my life. Also try and get away from carpet in your home as well as indoor animals. If not, keep all drapes, blinds and dust out of your home as much as possible. Clean, clean, clean up your indoor environment as much as possible.
Hi VincentW,
Thank you for you response. But my question was a bit different. I do take inhalers and a nebulizer. I have mild sleep apnea. I just started using a CPAP machine. And that’s a totally different story, lol! No, when I was anywhere between 13-16 I was given drops to use in a liquid, for my asthma. My Dr, and my Mom told me they were potassium drops., as in liquid. They came in a dark brown bottle. I was wondering if anyone had heard of this? Or was something odd going on that I wasn’t privy to? That’s all. I asked my parents before they died. And they both said the couldn’t remember. It did help though. So I was hoping someone else could remember or have a clue?

I apologize for not getting to the point of your question. No, I have never heard of potassium drops helping to alleviate sleep apnea or asthma. I hope you get your question answered though. Try the Google or Bing search engines for this answer. You may want to try Web MD also.
