I was diagnosed 3 months ago and I am still dealing with the whole situation. I have a good amount of support around me, but no one who truly understands. I suppose I have "a lot" of questions. Looking for information and to connect with people who are interested in conversation and if in my area meet for a drink.

I was diagnosed 3 YEARS AGO, last week. It was very hard at first, even in the first 10 SECONDS of the only thing that was going through my mind, was how I'd commit suicide !! I was crying and my tester, who I've been going to for a number of years, held me in his arms and said that everything will be ok. He explained to me that there are guys HIV+ that have lived for twenty, thirty years and more. As old as I am, all I could think of was how rough it was on "the guys" back when it was first discovered. In comparison, today it is a million light years ahead of what it was back then. He connected me with a support group in my area and that helped a lot too. Not to mention, the medical "Team" he hooked me up with, and the Doctor, I had no fear. And I will live a good life and find a way to help others.
