Bareback can be safe.

Planning a round the world sailing trip with a total of 8 guys. We all play together and bareback. One guy thinks we can still get HIV? Trying to convince him that if we are all negative when we start nothing can happen.

Hi Baldyboy, just wanted to make a quick comment to hopefully help in some way. You're right that if everyone involved is negative to begin with, then there is zero possibility that HIV can be transmitted. I'm assuming everyone involved knows their status by getting tested regularly, every 3-6 months? If not, testing is definitely the way to go just to be sure. Also something that can help put your friend's mind at ease is that PrEP is available. If he or all of you are taking PrEP then you can guard your body of the HIV virus. When taken properly it has a very high success rate. Hope this helps :)

As a health care worker you can protect yourself by 95% by taking Truvada or Prep as everyone knows it. Even if one of your buddies is poz you will be protected. Dont take chances.
