As I've got older Im getting pains in my ankles and knees.

I am 57 years old and have celebral pulsey affecting my legs and the way I walk. Over the last few years when I've walked for a few hours, and then rested I get severe pains in my ankles, and just recently I get a swollen/painful muscle above my left knee. I've been to the hospital and they gave me insoles for my shoes, and exercises for my knee,. neither of which work. My wife loves walking whilst we're holiday and I love to go with her, but every time I do I end up with pain. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for replying, I live in Skegness, Lincolnshire. Unfortunately you are too far to visit. Would it still be worth giving you a call? Thanks again.

Hi Barry57

I'm 45 and have mild CP on right side, with my leg being the most affected. I too have been suffering horrendous pains in my right hip bone/pelvic area; ankle and toes for the last 3 years or so. Oh, and not forgetting my neck; shoulders; (r)arm/leg - I got diagnosed with Cervical Degenerative DIsc Disease in C6/7. I firmly believe that after getting a very old torn tendon in same ankle operated on has escalated the problems in my lower body. My gait was already 'unique', however since the op its knocked everything else out of sync - hence my issues! Unless it's all a coincidence, as really all I had was tiring, heavy and sore feet (soles) even after a short walk. I have a flop and drag and these would get extremely exaggerated only after a few metres and/or if I'm tired. I've previously attended physios and hospitals which were a complete waste of time. Hopefully second time lucky at the end of this month......one can only but try and hope!?😏🙏☺️
