adult standing frames......

Does anyone use a standing frame as a way to get a better stretch??

I recently had a short course of physio, where it was discovered that a lot of the discomfort I am getting particularly in my back is down to the tightness in my pelvis, which I find really hard to stretch...

I remember when I was quite young I was put into a standing frame regularly to get a really good stetch, and one of the muscle groups that benefitted were the muscles around my pelvis. I just wondered if any adults still used a standing frame and how beneficial they have found it

Try using a wedge cushion . I got mine from amazon - amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00...

Transfer your weight from side to side. Keep your feet firmly on the floor. The cushion corrects your posture and tilts your pelvis forward into a natural position. It is air filled and helps strengthens the core muscles. I have found it has reduced pain in the pelvis and lower bacK. You can use an exercise ball (large) sit it behind your back and lean back and try controlling it from side to side. Sit on a firm surface. See if this helps. Let me know :)

I really struggle with core exercises where I am so tight!!! I can't use a conventional exercise ball without it absolutely killing me!!! I really need to work on getting my pelvis forward when I'm standing. I do use a peanut exercise ball, that is really good, I sit on it like a horse and it gives me a really good stretch in the adductors. It is also really comfy to sit on and as getting back to horse riding is one of my physio goals it helps with that too :)
