Can Cerebral Palsy affect your organs... - Living Positively...
Can Cerebral Palsy affect your organs like heart, lungs, plus cause more headaches than normal? Thank you
Hi there,
It sounds like you need to get your son check out for any secondary conditions. CP can affect stamina and can put extra strain on the body. However I don't think it directly affects organs etc Check out Scope page for further info: scope.org.uk/help-and-infor... and seek further medical advice.
Thanks,
Rachael

Hi
I agree with Rachel - maybe ask your GP to check for secondary conditions. CP can indirectly affect stamina - it may be more difficult for your son to exercise and if he is overweight or immobile I guess this could affect organs. But apart from that CP is a brain disorder that affects nerves - so I doubt it has any direct effect on organs. But do check with your GP. Very best wishes Nuala
It is always best to get a second opinion on health issues especially when one has cp
