Actually when you research it, you will find that it is Germany that leads the world in all things lipoedema/lipidema. The US has one doctor, Karen Herbst, M.D., who champions the awareness of this dysfunction of fat storage/metabolism. There are only four surgeons that I have found(in CA, GA, NY) who actively advertise WAL liposuction appropriate for the removal of the dysfunctional fat(they all studued with the German surgeons), and a handful of other practitioners who are familiar with protocols for treatment. There is little to no recognition of Lipedema among the medical establishment here, and rampant fat-bias and sex/age-ism.

I just spent an hour writing a great deal of info I have found in my research...then it was deleted :(...apologies, but I am not going to input it again now, maybe another time.

Practice calm and optimism. Sleep, proper circadian rhythm, and more importantly, dark is of enormous importance to functional fat metabolism and storage.

There is a great deal of information available. Also search Fat Disorders, Dercums Disease, Madelungs, lipomatosis, etc. I have had some solid success with Dr. Herbst's Fat Disorder protocol.
