Starting to take LDN for unbelievably severe anxiety depression and pain.

Want to know if anybody has taken this just for regular pain as in back pain and pain from arthritis in neck degenerative arthritis and anybody has taken it for anxiety and depression. How long did it take to help with the paint and did you initially have an increase in pain when it is blocking the opioid receptors. I have a horrible time sleeping as it is. Also my anxiety is off the charts high as I have been without sleep very quality for so long and very little of it anyway. I don't want to take antidepressant poison. So my doctor suggested this. Said it takes about a month to work. I have taken several doses of very small 1.5 mg in the morning as I'm afraid it might keep me up. Cause more pain at night. I didn't notice much of anything in the daytime. I have more anxiety. But my anxiety has been escalating anyway. I did get off of opioids about little over two years ago. I've only taken a few recent doses of Norco. But not sleeping doctor says I have no endorphins. And he's right every little thing hurts extra bad. Unfortunately I am also played with adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder and another one that is an impinged shoulder that develop into a frozen shoulder. So I'm stuck in a nursing home and can't even get in and out of bed by myself even using the electric bed to push me up. I have degenerative disc disease but also have extreme muscle tension from the anxiety and have not even been over in six months.

Sorry you are having such a difficult time. I take 4.5 mg LDN every night right before I go to bed. Have been on it almost a year. It really helped me sleep better, and greatly improved brain fog (I have PMR), and yes it also stabilizes mood. I did not have much pain, so don’t know how it affects that. The only side effect for me was some more vivid dreams during the first week of taking LDN. Fyi- 4.5 has always been my dose, I did not start at a lower dose. Best of luck!

I'm sorry you're having to deal with so much. I have heard of patients using LDN for pain relief, the general thinking is that if the pain is due to an inflammatory issue LDN should be helpful.

LDN is also used for anxiety & depression. It's a bit trickier than pain relief, I highly recommend doing some research on our website, ldnresearchtrust.org. Enter either condition in the searchbar on the homepage for lots of information.

Some of my pain is due to inflammatory conditions. It's also due to lack of endorphins making the pain worst. Lack of sleep and only sleep I get his poor quality. Extreme anxiety to the point where I sweat in my sleep and have panic in my sleep all night. Thought of the pain is muscle pain and tension from anxiety at so bad. Combination of that in high anxiety to keeping the nervous system in extreme over-the-top fight or flight mode. Left shoulder has gotten inflamed again moving out of range trying to do things. Thanks for your reply. I have anxiety about my anxiety and it just makes it worse. I get muscle tension so bad that it literally hurts when I injure myself just from walking and then the muscles are just constantly sore in my lower back and buttocks.
