I thought I was missing out. I thought I couldn’t live without you. So I gave you another chance last night. Guess what, we are through for good. Carbs you make me feel bloated and lousy. We are done.
I don’t miss carbs. : I thought I was... - Low-Carb High-Fat...
I don’t miss carbs.
Same here. Don’t miss them at all.
LOL - I have the exact same response to carbs. Every so often (like, maybe twice a year) I feel like a carb binge. Pizza or whatever. So I eat it. Mostly, though, I end up thinking "uggghh I really didn't want that" right afterwards because I feel bloated and sleepy.
I’m so heartened to hear you say that ☺️I tried a small roast potato last week as my OH was really proud of them. Regretted eating it pretty quickly 😔
I feel exactly the same! Still feel compelled to do it every once in a while though 🤔
I'm the outlier here. I like carbs, and I miss them from my diet. I can live without them, but I wistfully walk past boulangeries and sushi restaurants. I sometimes dream of bread and butter.
I haven't noticed any adverse reaction to them either. I ate 2 hot x buns on Good Friday and 2 on Easter Sunday, and the only lingering effect was the pleasure of the memory.
I don't miss carbs in general. I can't pinpoint how many months after starting keto I became indifferent to them but nowadays, when I see pastries, pies, bread, French fries, etc, I truly do not feel any attraction. They're all the same color, I am aware of the content and I know they are worthless.
However, a word of warning: I did indulge on New Year's eve (spur of the moment decision) and had a piece of chocolate cheesecake. I hadn't had carbs except very little in vegetables for many months and about 24 hours later acne showed up on 2 areas of my face. I was also sluggish the next day. It was 100% not worth it.
I do not recommend cheat meals/days at all.
Hello Lili.
I see you are new to Healthunlocked. It has truly terrible software, the effect is that if you reply to a 9 month old article this one, maybe no one will even see your post. I only saw it because I am making a special effort to see new posts in this group.
I would suggest you click the "write 🖋" at the top of the page, and start a new discussion on the same subject. I am all sure we'd love to comment. I am reflecting on how my attitude to carbs has changed since I wrote this (not much, but some), and I will join in the discussion if you start one.
Welcome.
