I saw this in a Waitrose mag. I think it's interesting because it's not being pitched as keto or anything, but it vegan and 26g fat and only 6.5g carbs. I haven't made it yet, but I will.

HMmmmm sounds nice I will give it a go. I am supposed to be eating low fat too, but I am sure that I can adapt it. It does look nice doesn't it?

I am sure you can. Without the fats it would be very low calorie. If you keep the tahini, the dressing may still emulsify.

You are in the wrong part of HU if you are low fat 😂

"too"? You aren't low carb and low fat are you? That's a rare diet, though the CSIRO in Australia is having success with that pattern, I think.

Low carb & low fat: that’s the concentration camp diet isn’t it?

That was low protein too.

What do I know? I’m stuck on a plateau & have just eaten more Brie...

I can't have brie or Camembert in the house. I invariably eat it all in an evening.

in reply to Subtle_badger

Oh. I only eat it or anything else if I am hungry... I have a whole Brie from Costco that we’ve had a fortnight....

That's the miracle of keto that has eluded me. If it's cheese, I can eat it no matter what else I am eating that day.

(learning how to trick myself: sliced cheddar, will eventually scoff it, a slice at a time. Block cheddar, I only have a little bit outside what I want/need)

in reply to Subtle_badger

But you are the one who is still losing weight remember... I am in plateau land...

Pre-sliced cheddar? Pre-sliced any cheese? Yuck. Get yourself to a proper cheese mongers!

Subtle_badger profile image

Cheese mongers? Not everyone has your cheese budget. Especially as I can knock it back 1/4 kg at a time.

Also the sliced cheese is often an "emergency" purchase, when I need to eat something and have nothing with me. Gnawing the corner off an aged double Gloucester is not regarded as ideal behaviour in some parts of society.

The slices are also bought, ironically, for portion control 🤣

Edit: oi! You buy cheese from Costco. You cannot judge me!

in reply to Subtle_badger

I’ve been known to eat a Camembert in the office like a biscuit, to much hilarity. As you say, not ideal behaviour.

Yes, I know I am in the wrong group! LCHF didn't 'cut the mustard' so I decided to ditch that. Vegan is cheaper anyway you know! LoL I will have to see if there is a vegan group on health unlocked

Ooops I can usually spell 'shall' properly, honestly.

Vegan and LCHF aren't completely exclusive. Just make up batches of the tahini/miso/olive oil dressing in this recipe, and pour it over everything you eat1

It looks delicious! Love broccoli. Anything based on broccoli has got to be yum!

Me too, anything green is brill by me. I love broccoli soup, just cook the broccoli and blitz it, use the cooking liquid to adjust the consistency. I don't usually use onions, garlic or any other additions either. I eat it most days.

Adding this to my list! It looks delicious!

Subtle_badger, I'm with you on cheese! I actually started

watching YouTube cheese making videos and plan to try my hand at it this summer. I have friends who raise sheep and goats who could supply the milk. Not sure who'll milk them, tho! 😂

I make paneer whenever I have milk that's just starting to 'turn'. I then fry cubes in butter with Indian pices and spinach. Saag Paneer. Yum yum yum. I'm just saying that as a homemade cheese it is very easy for a new cheese maker. No rennet, or tricky maintaining certain temperatures. :)

😕 I'm confused. It looks like roasted broccoli.

Leeleepuss profile image
Leeleepuss in reply to Subtle_badger

Yes it does, but with other bits and pieces. The pic makes it look a bit like avocado and it was a bit disappointing to learn its just brocoli 😂
