Here is the second part of Prof. Noake's talk re insulin resistance/Gerald Reaven.
I posted the previous talk (and this with others to follow) in the hope of reassuring those still with doubts that a high fat diet can be healthy when everything they've leaned screams the road to follow is paved with sugar and refined carbohydrate.
I'm curious to see what impact this information has on attitudes, so perhaps those of you with lingering doubts have had those doubts allayed or not and would post their thoughts?
Thank you for that post. It is reassuring when there are lingering doubts which do take a long time to go as I have been brainwashed for 40 years. When I first started LCHF, I had lots of doubts about this way of eating, but I downloaded this book - The Real Meal Revolution by Prof. Tim Noakes, Sally-Ann Creed and Jonno Proudfoot. It explains the history of why we are where we are and the science behind it, in a very understandable way. It also has a helpful recipe section at the back.
It has convinced me, along with all the other helpful posts by so many of you guys
Thanks for sharing Mike. I enjoyed it and it was particularly interesting to hear some thoughts on why the logical next steps were not taken. Must admit, being told to go on a low fat diet by my GP to reduce my cholesterol still makes me squirrely about eating more fat. Seeing the scientific interpretation of the data is really helpful in challenging my mind-set 👍
