Title: Questioning Dietary Dogma: a clinical approach to dietary advice Speaker: Tro Kalayjian, DO

vcu.mediaspace.kaltura.com/...

Review dietary guidelines & nutritional epidemiology

Review the neuro -biochemistry of appetite & satiety

Discuss low carbohydrate diets and intermittent fasting as medical nutrition therapies

Discuss remote monitoring of patient health data in the primary care setting

Covers a lot of familiar ground but it's a good summary of the root cause of the problem underlying the chronic conditions that are reaching epidemic proportions.

There is a tendency for online forums to parrot received wisdom in relation to diet and health issues and I think it's important to understand the evidence base on which dietary guidelines have been based may have been corrupted/biases by the influence of people/groups with their own agendas. The amount and quality of nutrition training our health professionals get is woefully inadequate, the major dietitians organisations are biased with their links to the food industry and dietary research has a history of bias from the influence of the 7th Day Adventists and the plant based propaganda machine.

It's reasonable to question the evidence base for much of the dietary advice currently provided by health professionals and dietitians, if we want to preserve our waistlines, health and well-being.
