Afaik, it's not something you can get without prescription in the UK, at least the last time I tried.

I tried to buy it at a well known health shop in the UK where I buy all my vitamins, and was firmly told not without a prescription.

Melatonin may be over the counter in some countries but its not in many countries, just because it occurs naturally in the body does not mean it will be problem free for everyone to take it as an additional supplement .

I just did a search and the common side effects are Headache, Nausea, Dizziness, Drowsiness and the less comon side effects are depression, mild tremor, mild anxiety, abdominal cramps, irritability, reduced alertness, confusion or disorientation, and abnormally low blood pressure.

So if it is working for you good but for most it best to check with your doctor.

I’m trying Melatonin right now. My counts are typically between 20k and 25k, doctor put me on Prednisone but my counts barely changed so he weaned me. I’m hoping the Melatonin helps.

Glad you have had positive results, wishing you all the best.

Kindest regards,

Barry

I started Melatonin 3 mg in Feb, not for IPT but for sleep and possible COVID protection. My platelets have gone up in this time, but I never made the association. Thank you for sharing your experience!
