Imuran for Itp

Did any one took imuran to increase the platelets count?

I did take imuran with steroids .. BT I don't think it did help in raising my platelt count .. The only thing I feel during this treatment was hair fall.. So I stopped taking it....

no, it's been used for a long time, another name is azathioprine

I used it but it didnt help me at all (the minimum time to take it is 3-4 months, bc that's how the drug works). I took it for 5 months. I did meet a couple of people for whom it worked tho

Hi Entelaela. I’m on Imuran and have been stable for about 2 years. Problem is that it is affecting my liver and have to come off it. The hematologists said the success rate for this drug is quite low for ITP. Good luck
