Flu Jab issues

Hi my platelets were 332 on 29th Sept 2017 after the flu jab they have plummeted to 180. Has anyone else had this. Would love to hear from anyone else's experiences. I had Ritaxumab in December 2015 my platelets have been good since. Been worried

Yes the same thing happened to me on 2015 & 2016. The flu jab wiped out my platelets and I also got neurological problems which eventually subsided but am giving the jab up this year. But yes to answer your answer the flu depletes your platelets and nobody has been able to tell me why. Not even with the neurological issues has anybody found an answer. Am not trying it a third time. I also had retuximab in 2014.

My count goes down if i have a cold or flu

Thank you. Yes I have had a bad cough as well so that was probably a factor too.

My platelets went up when I had a infection not a cold think bacterial

My ITP began after having a flu shot 7 years ago. I've been through a very tough time since then. Platelets have increased only recently, and that is still at a low level. Mentioned it to my doctor and he disagrees with my FS theory. But, I had a full physical three days before the shot and my platelets were normal. No more flu shot for me.

Yes I am going for a repeat blood test next week. Noticed a bruise on my arm let's see what platelets are next week . I definitely blame flu jab. Hope yours increase soon
