PETICHIAE: HELLO ALL!! DO YOU GUYS ALSO... - ITP Support Assoc...
PETICHIAE
They never go away I have them all over
I have a few left...
I had 27 bruises all over my body to start with as my count was 7 when I found out I had ITP. Quite a few of them were very big but I'm happy to say after 2 years they have all finally faded away.
Fingers crossed yours will too.
Lin
wow that's great to hear. but can I ask what did you to raise your counts?
I was put on prednisone 80mgs daily my count started to go up slowly over 6months in that time I was slowly taken off meds iv not taken any thing for over a year now, my count got up too 142 then lowered I'm at 98 now and very happy. I think that's the key don't stress, iv had pneumonia count dropped but has come back up again. I'm having bloods taken on 19th just to check all is well.
I do have very little bloods spots on shins but I'd rather that than all the bruises
Take care and just try and enjoy life.

Almost all mine left when my count went above 10, but I have some that have scarred my legs, leaving small brown dots on my ankles and a couple of larger marks on my shins. What's your count? Are they still red?
I saw a dermatologist in the end, and some of my lingering ones are in fact a dermatological feature, not an ITP one! Campbell de Morgan spots. They are the spitting image of petechiae and despite me saying they start off like that with a low count, the dermatologist disputed it! I now have so many that sometimes I can't tell what's new and what isn't!
I find they come and go
They are around! Don't let them scare you! After my initial diagnosis the doc made me promise at the first sign of red, I will rush back to hospital, which I did and the blood work reveals 300 ++ ( embarrassing! ) Na, don't fret about them!
thank you!! what did you back then?
Hi. I was put on a years treatment of prednisone, which started at 24 a day and gradually whined them down to the last one a day. And I was happy. Only the next day I woke up paralyzed with pain in all of my limbs. Thank God my sister helped me. I'm okay since but I do experience the pneumonia and the bouts of joint pain and the worry that there are no cure for ITP. But I gather from this site that we've got nothing to worry about. We've got people all over the world that shares our boat, and I really take comfort in this. Let's be strong. Don't remove your spleen and don't panic too soon... love always. Cessie.
have it all the time. Had treatment with rixtinun and have a count of 150+, but still have it.
the bruises have gone with higher counts.
I was freaked out when these marks suddenly started appearing on my arms. got use to them coming and going. They don't look pretty but I put up with them,
