Have you found you have had to miss a lot of work. I'm a waitress and find I'm off a lot because of being lightheaded and so tired.

Yep I'm the same, I'm a support worker for people who have learning disabilities. Iv been on the sick for a month now and back too see the doctor later for another sicknote as the dizziness/lightheaded feeling still the same even with the reduced steroids.

So hope it gets better soon.

I was in admin but gave it up two years before retirement because of tiredness and also vertigo, my doctor thinks I'm a lot healthier now away from the stress.

I constantly am tired and light headed. I can work from home so I make excuses why I don't go in the office. I am supposed to travel too to far away places like Brazil. I am not making plans as I dont know how I'm going to be feeling

I get tired and i work from home. I often have to have a nap in the afternoon. I am lucky to be able to factor it into my day without having to take out too much time from my work.

I developed ITP just as I was getting ready to enter the workforce after raising my kids. I've been trying ti freelance from home, but without established connections and the energy to pursue new ones, I'm having a really rough time getting any work. It's continually disheartening.

That would be hard. It's this lack of energy I find tough.

Absolutely. The fatigue is relentless. I am continually amazed that a condition that's all about exhaustion has itself so much time and energy to expend on keeping me tired : )!

Yea im always tired, moreso when counts low. My dr. Says ITP doesnt make you tired. She should try having it for a month,

You're right, she should! There is a growing consensus that ITP DOES cause fatigue.

From onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...

"Two other important issues are fatigue and thrombophilia. Abnormal tiredness affects a substantial number of patients with ITP (Sarpatwari et al, 2010a), but the severity of this symptom does not fully correlate with the platelet count or bleeding manifestations (McMillan et al, 2008). The mechanisms of fatigue are poorly understood and this is an area that needs further detailed investigation."

At least it seems as if we're not making this up.

Hi you're right Whitespot about the housework! It's still frustrating though! I have to have a rest for a couple of hours on the days i work. Sometimes you feel ok, but then you overdo it, I guess it's a case of getting the balance right! 😃

Totally understand your frustration.

More frustrating for me is trying to find a regime that keeps my blood up for more then a month.

I agree. One of the haematology doctors said itp is one of the "least serious"!! of the conditions they have to treat, but the most difficult. They don't acknowledge the tiredness. I want to be able to do something to help myself, but they say there's nothing you can do!! I just try and rest when I can and try to eat as well as I can!

Take care. Hope you are feeling ok at the moment :)
