How do you feel physically? I know what you mean by being scared, it is an awful feeling. What I was told by my hematologist was that platelets do fluctuate. Maybe they will normalize by the time you have your next blood draw. I do not know of anything to lower platelets, but take the aspirin as the GP said to do. Keep in touch to let us know how you are doing. If you feel fine physically, it may just be a passing thing. Will keep you in my thoughts.

Very welcome. I forgot to ask if you take any herbal supplements? It could also be medication related. I have lupus and we tried reducing the dosages for a period of time on several of my meds to see if that would improve the platelets, but it did not. I have the general anxiety disorder also, and believe me odd things on blood work do make us very nervous and worrisome, which we do not need!

No i dont take anything herbal , incase of interactions .. maybe . im on propanol and dosulpin for anxiety and 2 lots eye drops and the odd valium for dire emergencys . and simstatin as brother had several mini strokes he on blood thinner now

Hi, it's quite hard to imagine how you feel with so many platelets. My acount is much, much lower. I have read that there are many herbs, very common, which thinner blood. For example, green tea, cammomile, gingko, garlic, bilberries, cinnamon, red clover. Though I have no idea which part of the world you are from. But remember, everything will be ok! With best wishes!

Hi Molly

Patient.co.uk say that a normal platelet count is between 150-400 and I have also seen 450 given as the higher end of normal. As your count is 475 it seems it is almost within the normal range and I am pretty sure that I have seen other people on this forum that have experienced much higher counts. Try not to worry too much until your blood test next month.

Regards Janet
