Dad went into icu on 1/30/22, intubated the next day and sedated on 2/1/22. Diagnosed with covid pneumonia. He's 73, with COPD, he starter his career as a welder, then second hand smoke from mom, then west nile virus. On Monday 2/16/22 they did a traecheatomy and started taking him off sedation. Yesterday he opened his eyes but he's not responding and today they upped his oxygen back to 75% was told he is not getting better or worse. Any thoughts?

Stable is also a good thing - don’t lose sight of that - we get so used to looking for small victories & defeats that we overlook stable.

It took my mom a long time to respond, over a month just to track a little with her eyes. Just give him time.
