Woaw what a repsonse i had to my orevious article.
Thanks to all thst experienced/experiencing the same thing.
Yes the idea of coming home and feeling useless, waiting for someone to take you to the bathroom, got me down. I pushed myself to walk once i got home. I was so depressed in the hospital i didnt want to walk. Once home, i had to prove to myself " i can do this".
I still have low days, as im usually always very busy. Days go by where i only manage to shower and have brunch. The hair loss is just a real downer, literally, im forced to vacuum every day
If im standing in the kitchen, there will be a small pile of hair where i was standing.
Has anyone tried hair, nails and skin vitamin. I used to take this when i was much younger.
Oh yes, my skin peeled for like 1 month after coming home, from my hands down to my feet. I was itching most times.
Another thing, my eyesight has really deteriorated. Never wore glasses, now need long sight glasses.
Thanks everyone.

We most certainly are! I must admit, I have to remind myself that I'm lucky to be alive when I'm feeling low and frustrated at lack of 'get up and go'.Believe me, I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. But it honestly does get better. It's still early days for you. I know it doesn't feel like it. I look back now, its almost 2years since I was rushed out of hospital (StThomases in london) early to keep me safe from COVID! And now I can see how much I've improved in that time. So please be patient with yourself. You will get stronger and more independent.
Hi yes I am on hair nail and skin vitamins and it definitely helped. I noticed a different with the hair loss quite quickly. Keep yourself more hydrated than you think you should as this will help with the dry skin. A nurse told me that in hospital and said it could take up to a year for your skin to get back to normal but I tried hard with cream 3 times a day until I went back to work. Things to get better but I'm not very patient. But must say hair is better than before I went in lol. Now I'm trying to lose the weight that came on as soon as I came out at amazing speed which I'm not happy about. But will get there its been 18 months since I came out. Good luck x
Hi micheve123, thanks for that. The hair is really getting me down atm. I cut it but now its so thin i dont have to use a band to tie it up. Still lots of little piles in areas where i stand or sit. Oh and the weight! I qas told after coming out of hospital to put on weight to aide in my speedy recovery, now im pre diabetic, no one in my family ever had diabetics. The hardest part to count calories and ride exercise bike like no tomorrow. Looking to shed around 20kg. Its a downer for sure. Im hoping to go back to work in 8 weeks. I miss routine, i miss feeling needed, socialising is non existent, too scared to mix with people as i dont want to get sick. But what happens when i return to my work with teachers and children? So many mentally challenging issues. I thank God every day for being alive and ask for Him to give me the strength to 'soldieron'.Take care
Hi Ccie, I'm sorry you are going through hairloss at the moment. So am I. I am post discharge 7 months now and lost about 70% of my hair. After lots of patience and tears, I can see my hair growing back thick again. I found Watermans shampoo, conditioner, and elixir really good and I also clip in extensions which give me my confidence back. I was recommended to wash my hair with this every 2 days to have a clean scalp which promotes growth and also to brush as normal. Hope this helps xxx
