Hi guys, I'm new here I just discovered this website, I want to ask if anyone of you had known a similar case... My bf had brain hemorrhage which caused him brain edema and vasospasm he arrived unconscious to the hospital but then he was in medically induced coma, they stopped few days ago but he isn't waking up yet
Unconscious bf because of brain hemorrhage, would... - ICUsteps
Unconscious bf because of brain hemorrhage, would he wake up?
Hi don’t know anything about brain haemorrhage but what I can tell you is that back in December’19 I was ventilated / sedated for nearly 2 months and despite trying to ween me off I wouldn’t come round. When I was ready I did.
Hi!! Thanks for your reply, could please tell me how long it took you to wake up after sedation stopped?
I don't really know. They kept trying to ween me off and then have to resedate me. The family said that ICU were really good but their predictions kept changing from a week to 2 weeks may be a month or more. There must have been days when I was semi conscious. I also had issues about being afraid to sleep at night. But after about 2 months I just came round. So its off and on, off and on and don't forget we are all different.
Hi, I’m so sorry to hear about your bf, so heartbreaking and a very distressing time. My mum suffered a cardiac arrest 5 days ago and is still not awake. She is off sedation but on medication to keep her calm and also antibiotics which they say may make her drowsy so may add to the unconsciousness. We keep thinking ‘today might be the day that she wakes up’ but we are still waiting 💔Do you have any progress on your bf? Thinking of you as we too endure a similar agony x
Hi dear, I'm sorry to hear that hope your mom will recovers soon ❤️ my bf is still unconscious 😢 they stopped the induced coma already but still he doesn't gain his consciousness :/ I'm having difficult time waiting
Gosh it’s just agony isn’t it!! We are riding this horrible wave of torment day in day out, I totally sympathise with you 💔
This site has helped me massively since finding it and I get great comfort from the positive outcomes that I read about a lot.
Feel free to message me if you want a chat, we are probably at a similar stage time wise.
Sending lots of love and hang on in there x
My dad had a fall one week ago and was put in a medically induced coma within minutes of his fall. He was taken out of this a few days ago but also hasn’t woken up. The ICU doctors are also adapting some of the medication which makes people drowsy and we are trying to stimulate him with music and voice notes from us. From exploring this community I have learned that every single person is different and it can take a long time for people to wake up. Stay strong ❤️
