Frozen shoulder after proning
Hi
I was discharged from hospital on 8th May after 32 days in and 18 in a coma through Covid.
Both my shoulders are frozen to a degree but the pain is still unbearable. I am having only 4 hours sleep on average per day since discharge ( 10 weeks)
I was told I cannot use ibuprofen gel on my shoulders. Has anyone got any alternative ointments as the pain is ridiculous and I dont want to keep using painkillers.
Any help would be appreciated.
In the end - the only thing that worked for me was gentle stretching exercises - obviously I couldnt do much at first. Gradually I rebuilt strength and muscle.
The pain for me was down to the muscles wasting away & shortening as well. Hence climbing downstairs was more difficult than going upstairs for instance.
I couldn’t raise my arms above shoulder height either. Slowly with the right stretching & exercise I improved.
Everything unfortunately is connected -
