I suffered badly with hallucinations once they woke me. now the question I am asking is I missed xmas and new year but felt great going home not ill at all. after about 2 weeks I started to have hallucinations and voices. the things that are said are relevant to me so its not just jumbled rubbish. I have also keep seeing a man who says things. has anyone else had this problem? my doctor is no use just offered me pills and implied I was making it up.
Hi Folks I am new to the site and am hoping someo... - ICUsteps
Hi Folks I am new to the site and am hoping someone can help, xmas this year was spent in a coma, I had a terrible time waking.
ICU delirium is real my friend and not a figment of your imagination. This link takes you to a supplement on delirium, a really good description.
Does your hospital do a monthly follow up? Do you have any contact with critical care outreach team? I would mention what you are suffering or maybe contact ICU unit directly & explain what is happening.
In my case, the delirium took about 11 days to clear.
many thanks for the help with the link and for replying to my add, I didn't get any follow up at icu once I was better they sent me home, I was admitted to a different Hospital a week later and was diagnosed with delirium following coma, again no follow up was given but they have since organised a CPN for 1st March which makes me feel i'm losing the plot but I will see. I am having the same hallucinations at home as in ICU, the voices are not just as I think they have stopped, bang they are back again the voices are most worrying as they refer to death and awful things of loved ones who have passed, thankyou for mentioning critical care they organised the CPN many thanks my friend. ps/ just read the link you gave me, I have to say it is really help full to people with problems like ourselves and relatives, yours solskjaer
