Hi to all

I've had a vaginal hysterectomy and anterior and posterior repair and perinorrhaplasty. 13 weeks post operative now. At my pre op nurse said no running for 6 months. I've been for my 3 month check up ask the consultant when I can run he said now. What would you do?

I suppose a lot depends on how your recovery has gone.

Did you explain to your consultant the extent of running you were doing?

Me personally would think its too soon to be doing what you were doing before but maybe you can slowly start to build up to it? Im not an excercise enthusiast but i certainly wasnt well enough to do anything like that til 6 months at least. It took me a good twelve months to feel like i had my full strength again.

All i would suggest is take it slowly. Your body does take a long time to recover and you dont want to overdo it and cause a prolapse later on. Only you know your body and you have to be sensible and listen to it. x

If I was to start again I would start from the beginning of the app again. I'm going to ask for a third opinion I'm going to ask a gp. See what they say that's all I can do at the moment. I do want to get back to jogging. At the moment I've been walking the 5ks every other day. I start back to work on Monday but phased in as I work for nhs as a domestic. X

I started running and playing netball after 8 weeks. Took slowly gentle jog around the block Did do Pilates excerises gently at 6 weeks, core and pelvic floor. Had a vaginal with lots if stitches, apparently a difficult op. I was doing Pilates and netball up to the op. Now 5 months on running, netball all better then been for years with my fibroid.
