Well, valium usually puts me right out, but some people are different. Maybe you should have a talk with your doctor about this. God luck, it can be hard to sleep sometimes.

My Rheumy put me on Amitriptyline and it worked, unfortunately I put on loads of weight with it, so came off it, consequently sleep is really difficult. Trying to persevere without taking anything though may have to try something else.

Hi hon, I have had problems with sleeping for SO many years. I could honestly not sleep for 6-7 days/nights, not even drop off for a few minutes. The doctors never took me seriously and never offered anything. I just had to cope. After my diagnosis, doctors had no problem with prescribing me a sleeping tablet, I have taken them for 10 years now. I try to take half a tablet instead of a whole one, it mainly works as well. I could talk for hours on this issue.....but, simply put, Valium is ok, but I think he wont prescibe it for long...then what?

Hi there,

I had trouble with sleep too and my doctor gave me antidepressants to help me sleep. Anyhow to cut a long story short. I did take them and they did help a little the first week. I came off them and the second week I slept. I dunno do sleeping aids really help at all. I found alot of what I was eating too was affecting me I had to much acid in my system. I hope this helps somewhat.

take care,

Catherine
