Dentist asking for INR Test Results

Last week my dentist asked me for my INR test results. I'm a little suspicious and wondering if anyone else has had their dentist ask them to give them your INR results?

My Dentist is aware that I'm triple +ve for APS and in the event I *might* need a tooth extraction he needs to know if I can stop thinners and might be unwilling to do so at his surgery. Even something simple like a scale and polish can cause bleeding if INR too high. So far, I've never had a problem but I'm stable on twice daily Clexane shots.

Yes my dentist and my hygienist always ask my recent INR result and note it down.

Every time I am in my dentist’s office, I am always asked what my INR levels are. Even if I am there just for a cleaning. This has been going on for the past four years. The staff has reason to be concerned that they might start a major bleed even when using dental floss.

Hi, yes, it's normal practice I believe. Just part of doing their job properly.

Yes I am even with cleanings come to think of it I am asked by just about all my Doc's because like Oz i am a triple Pos Primary with a huge medical issue list and getting to be an old man LOL !!, my PT/INR's are done every three days so i am watched very closely and I also volunteer at the Technical Institute , for students becoming dental assistants and cleaning teeth , The gals need bodies in those chairs and they have to ask every time or thier instructors get on them about it . and also because i am on Hydroxychloriqine they also asks about that because of hydroxychloriqinetoxtisity and it's effects on the eye's when at eye doc appointments . Have they asked you there ?? I am also the poster person for VERY erratic INR's they bounce at times , hard to keep stable well just about impossible LOL Thanks for your info .

Not a bad idea for them to ask if you are intending to have any invasive procedures done? MaryF
