What to do now?

I have suffered three early miscarriages in a row. I'm hypo and autoimmune positive. Searching in Internet, I came to know that APS can be reason for that. My physician has not suggested me any diagnosis. As I'm from an underdeveloped country, I'm afraid if my doctors know about this issue.

Hi and welcome - really sorry for your loses. Its very common to have APS along side other auto immune illness (I see you are on the forum for thyroid). APS/Hughes can be checked with blood tests, repeated 8 weeks apart.

Your doctor may know of this desease, have a chat.

What Country are from?

Hi HollyHeski

Thanks.

I'm from Bangladesh. Hope to find out the reason behind my miscarriages.

Stay blessed.

You may never find out why, still worth getting the blood tests done for APS.

The treatment would be daily aspirin and/or heprin once pregnant.

There are many here who have had multi miscarriages to go on to have successful pregnancies.

Stay with us and let us know how you get on.

Hi

Im sorry to hear about your losses.

I have just done a very quick search on the internet but it seems that there could be doctors with experience of (and expertise in) anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS) at Dhaka Medical College.

Shikha Ganguly

Associate Professor, Department of Obst & Gynae, Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka

Bangladesh

Ferdousi Islam

Professor and Head of the Department of Obst & Gynae, Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka

Bangladesh.

Im just deducing this from fact that thes guys have fairly recently published an article about APS. Though not in a top journal.

Hope this helps.

best wishes

R

Hi! I do hope you manage to find the reason for your recurrent miscarriages.

I have APS and went through a terrible history of 10 miscarriages before my diagnosis. I had 1 beautiful baby boy without any complications, they say 1 in 10 is viable, but after much heart ache and stress I’m pleased to say I have 3 beautiful babies. A 2 years old and two 1 year olds. After the my diagnosis I had planned pregnancy with low dose aspirin (right up til birth), prednisone (to stop my immune system for 12 weeks), and heparin injections for 36 weeks. There is hope so be persistent in your diagnosis. Good luck and my you be blessed.

Oh Wow...... Well mu doctors here didnt know what was wrong with me ...so after completing how to do my job (full on brain fog), getting lost in familar places and several miscarriages. I went to mumbai and was diagnosed after seeing an gynae and a dew blood test. The consultant fee cost me a mere £8 and not much for the tests and i came back with my diagnosis. Ive since been back and been to a hospital in mumbai called lailavati where the immune specialist actually studies and worked alongside some doctors from Lupus unit at Guys. Bangladesh is very well developed.

Call Dr Gursahni @lailavati im sure he will direct you. or the original doctor I saw was Dr Nozer in Bandra . He will always deal with you by phone and email and direct you to which blood tests etc. I know this as my full results came in after i left and he corrresponded on email. His consultancy fees were 800rupees

you too ...worst case scenario look up blood tests needed and get tested than you can work on solution as I know there you can get them to come home to do tests without dr request. personally i would go for

1) ana ,

The

three APS antibodies:

1)anticardiolipin,

2)beta-2 glycoprotein I (β2GPI),

3)lupus anticoagulant

I am not advising to self medicate but most people start on baby aspirin 75mgs and folic acid.

If you are postive for APS than you must condition your body first before conceiving. Also note that people can be negative but still have clinical APS!!

I started with 75mg, folic acid and hydroxycloriquine 400mgs. It wasnt enough for me.

I than had Enoxaparin 60mg daily injected by myself folic acid hydroxycloriquine 400mgs and my miracle is now 4years old 😁.
