What does Prof Hunt have to say... I really admire her, straight forward and to the point. She answers all questions dignified and politely! And provides a wealth of information as doing so!!!

Had cva, how do I know if it is venous or arterial? My INRS are between 2-3. I have to learn how to use tweeter 🤔

Venous is if clot breaks free to lungs causing pulmonary embolism. Arterial is if clot breaks free to heart/brain causing MI/Stroke.

While there is a great deal of excitement about the use of rivaroxaban, please carefully consider the literature and data. I wrestle with warfarin & INR instability too, but ask your specialist to explain the references regarding APS in the Thrombophilia section of the following abstract:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Note that this was just published in January and the APS cohorts in randomized clinical trials (RCT) have not been expanded much since then

Thanks for that. Very useful information. My inr is 3.5-4.0 so not suitable. The monitoring of warfarin is tedious, but I'm happy to stick with it until a lot more research has been done.
