Again I am getting quick sharp stabbing pains to the left hand side if my brain! They only last seconds but very painful & worrying.

I am sorry to here about your pain but I also get stabbing pain in the back of my head on both sides. it is very painful and really only last for a few mins but comes in waves. I dont get it every day but get it at least once or twice a month sometimes I can get it a few times in a week etc. I do get terrible headaches at the front wich last for 5 days or so at a time. My doctor is investigating. I did go to optitions again and have found that in 6 month my eye sight has decreased again. So maybe worth checking eyesight to see if anything to do with eyes. You need to make your doctor aware and keep a diary of when they happen is there something triggering them?

I'd agree with the first reply and see your doctor. If you find yourself getting confused alongside a headache that just won't disappear do get to A&E. I had a very slow brain haemorrhage which got worse over 3 days and my doctor said "just come back if it gets worse". as they tend to. I ended up very confused and went to A&E - needed surgery to remove the pressure from my brain. Should say this is VERY unlikely but just bear in mind if the headache increases and doesn't go away, alongside confusion. x
