Hi Anabella

Sorry about all your losses, a lot of people on here will know how you feel.

Has anyone suggested that you have IVF my Daughter has been through that she hasn't got Hughes, but the Hormones she was given, I am not a Doctor but I am not sure we wouldn't be able to take them, because of the risks of clots.

Hope everything improves for you.

Good luck

I have undergone assisted conception after a diagnosis of Hughes and have a child as a result. I got through it by remembering there are no guarantees for anyone during pregnancy.

Hi, I know this probably wont help much, but for what it is worth, I managed to have my only child with IVF 22 years ago. I lost many others prior to her and others after. Although doctors didn't know the cause for my miscarriages then, I sailed through my only pregnancy. I am sure the doctors are very aware of your condition and any treatment you are on, as long as they are very aware of how to deal with a pregnancy with Hughes, then, you will be sure of the best of care and should go forward with hope and confidence. Write down all your concerns and talk them through on your next appointment. Good luck :)

Thank you daisyd, MLNC and Jane-Martin for your reply. I'm so scared of the treatment ending up in a miscarriage. This will be my second cycle of IVF and with my cycles being irregular (shorter) I feel like my hormones are out of balance. I cannot take the pill prior to the treatment as those with Hughes Syndrome cannot do so and I'm having problems balancing the hormones naturally. I feel somewhat lost and stressed :(

Hi there,

I did ivf after a lot of miscarriages and had the diagnosis through bloodwork for hughes syndrome. My symptoms whilst pregnant were severe, but I did not react to IVF though if you have Hughes you would have to be wary of thickenig of blood as in some cases I believe this can happen.

I was doing ivf to put our embryo into a surrogate and we had three tries before she had our baby. I met a lot of ladies doing IVF and it can be up and down.

Good luck with your decisions.

Xx
