Hi I’ve had HS for about 5 years now I’ve got it under my arms and I know shaving is not an option and I don’t want to try self waxing as I already did that once and it was problematic and I don’t want to go through that again so I was just wondering has anyone tried nair hair removal cream if so how well does it work??

Hair removal cream is going to sting a lot of you have open sores. And could even damage skin where sores are healing and make them bleed again. Unless your are fully healed I wouldn't try this. However I don't know what the alternative would be. I don't remove hair where my skin isn't healed properly

Thank you for replying I think I might try it once they have healed 😊

I am in the same situation as you and haven’t shaved my armpit properly in nearly 2 months. As I have an infected wound. I would recommend going to see your GP and asking for a referral to see a dermatologist.

Hey yea I might do that I was considering having surgery but when I first got diagnosed with Hs I asked my GP about it and he said that if I did get surgery I wouldn’t be able to move my arms fully above my head

Half of GPs do not know the actual condition, so deamanding a referral is your best bet, as they can help you more.

When I went to see my GP about it he and he knew straight away what it was and gave me a booklet about it

get your derm referral asap!! get the condition under control. Do your own research. read medical journals. change your diet. research the connection between food and HS. Do whatever you can to reduce systemic inflammation in the body.

I have done some research about HS and did change my diet and start to exercise more but I’ve stopped eating healthy and exercising but I’m trying to get back into my old routine again
