Depression can DOUBLE the risk of dying from HIV for patients too down to go to doctor appointments, study suggests

Researchers found HIV patients with depression face serious health risks

The University of North Carolina team found that they are more likely to miss appointments

The study also revealed they are more likely to die than those without depression

Previous studies have found the mental illness is common among HIV patients
