Hi,
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm genotype 2, and 5.5 weeks through treatment with epclusa. I had a blood test at 3 weeks 5 days, and came back detected <15.
My problem is I've been really ill the last year, and I am still really fatigued on this drug, but I need to be able to perform very soon so I was hoping to have a truncated treatment length of only 8 weeks.
Now I'm freaking out a bit as I was detected at 4 weeks, I don't know how large the risk is.
I'm thinking doing 8 weeks epclusa. then one week mavyret, so 9 weeks total. I know it would be only another 3 weeks for the standard treatment, but I seriously need to be functioning well mentally by the 20th April.
I have mavyret to hand as well which I got later from my countries health care service, which is only 8 weeks. They havent offered to test me in the future with covid going on so I would have to go privately and I find it confusing to know if the test differentiates when <15.
When looking online I can't seem to see any resarch done on epclusa for 8 weeks apart from genotype 3 opoid addicts, and epclusa with another drug for 8 weeks, which had 92% and 95% cure rates respectively.
I know mavyret has more mg of drug so I;m not sure if its more potent in a short time frame, or the makers just did the trials better than epclusa for 8 weeks but they would have similar efficacy over that period.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
