I have recently been diagnosed with chd after a heart attack in feb . I have found it very difficult to come to terms with it. I have had one stent fitted and one other artery has chd
I was told the stents can block up how common is this. Also I have been really poorly with gastric problems and couldnt eat so my cholesterol level dropped from 6.4 to 4.6 . Do I need statins

Your Combined cholesterol is still too high at 4.6 and should be brought down to 3.9 to prevent further escalation of your heart disease. Ldl should be 1.8 or lower.
I too had a heart attack, some months back I am 51. I was given beta blockers, blood thining drug, aspirin and a statin to take each day. I was scared and somewhat left in ignorance too by the cardiologists, just telling me to take tablets so decided to do something about it. After some research I found that I could stop or even reverse my heart disease. I have been eating a plant only diet since. My cholesterol is now below 141 (3.64) and LDL 61 (1.57) I am only taking the blood thinners now, this is because of the stent to prevent it blocking from a clot. This time next year I should be medication free.
I cycle most days around 20km and have my weight is now 72kg. I do not need to worry about eating too much anymore. I feel great, even better than I did before the heart attack. Changing my eating habits was difficult at first however I do not miss meat or dairy or oils anymore. Takes a while but I got used to it and now I love it.
I have young children and this is my main motivation for living healthier.
If you really wish to do something about your disease, you can. If I can be of any further help, let me know.
