I had one stent fitted in July 2005 following a heart attack. So far, so good!

i had 4 stents + 1 balloon following a massive heart attack in july 2001 ---- had angiogram in 2009 all ok ---i have really worked at keeping my cholesterol down + looking after myself. hope this helps.

I got 4 ordinary stents 2 years ago after a bypass operation and a clot which caused infarction on the second day after the operation, and a month ago - a new drug eluting one, called Orsio.

I haven't stopped taking Plavix because of the stents.

The doctors said that for 2 years my atheroma has increased, although I have not stopped taking Crestor. Took 10 mg, now 20. I wonder how is it possible, so soon. My LDL is 2.5 mmol. It has to be lower than 1.9 mmol. I keep a low fat diet.

I got a gold one 14 years ago (private), followed by 3 stainless steel ones 5/6 years later. Now healthier than ever at 64.

Wow,,,thanks to all of you,, ....I find it so interesting and really helpful to hear lots of positive stuff about stents especially from people that actually have them,,,sometimes I just dont realise how many people have them. Thanks once again ,, I will keep reading more and more about and understanding stents and the ways things work ,, meds etc,,, so glad I found this site.....

well the last 2 i had put in was 18 months ago, tge other 3 were from 10 yrs ago.

I had four between 2003 - 2012 the last one is the one that blocked within a few months. In total I managed 10 years before a bypass
