Travel Insurance and declarations

I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. When looking at taking out a new policy for Travel Insurance under the medical declaration, it asks if you are under investigation or have a diagnosis. Does this mean that if you declare the problem you are having at the present time it won’t be covered as they dont know the cause or does it mean you are covered because you’ve declared it?

You must declare all current diagnoses and investigations. You may be able to find cover for diagnosed conditions however, please be aware that anything under investigation is not always covered but you must still let them know.

All the best.

Hi Blondie 12345, With regard to travel insurance, if you are under investigation or waiting for a diagnosis, they indeed do not cover you. However, I am a bit surprised that they will not cover you even if you have a diagnosis. I was under investigation and had the same situation going on a cruise this summer. Hope that helps.
