I’m currently undecided to have an ablation for ectopics/. Bigeminy . 2 years ago I had a successful ablation for SVT and atrial flutter but during my procedure the doctor found another problem but didn’t ablate because it was high risk.
The problem is sat next to my phrenic nerve if they were to touch this, my diaphragm would collapse.
Ive had an appointment with a professor with the suggestion, of placing a balloon in between the nerve and the heart .
This makes me very nervous about having this done . I’ve tried so many heart meds nothing is helping with the high burden of ectopics and Bigeminy.
I feel this isn’t a life im living I’m 40 years old . I just can’t take much more of this .
please has anyone had an ablation with a balloon separating the nerve from the heart ?
Many thanks Michelle

I'm sorry you haven't had any replies Michelle, and suspect it's because most people have no knowledge of the issue you describe.
Have you tried all possible changes in your medication? Have you tried all the usual lifestyle adaptions to try to calm your arrythmia?
Cutting out alcohol and caffeine, drinking lots of water, avoiding processed foods, avoiding sugar and other sweeteners, dealing with stress levels, losing weight?
All quite daunting but you quickly get used to them and judging by the way you say you are feeling about life, surely worth a serious effort?
If I'm preaching to the converted and you've already adopted all of the above, then maybe all you need is someone to say they'd choose the surgery over doing nothing. Personally I'd put my trust in the professor, rather than go on in misery! But only you can decide and maybe another appointment with him/her, asking all the questions you need to in order to be reassured, is the next step.
hi, I have just had a bad run of ectopics on Sunday. I have been training for a endurance cycle and now my plans are up in the air. Feeling really down. I found taking magnesium citrate has helped me most of the time. I went back to the doctor who is consulting with cardiologist to see what else can be done. Keep going don’t give in go back to the health professionals and see what they can do to help. Wish you well.
