I had an ablation 10 months ago. My PAC burden has increased since the procedure, but I've not had an episode of AF (at least not one lasting beyond a few seconds) in 5 months. I rarely get any PVCs, but that was the case before my ablation, too.Be prepared to experience heart irregularities well past the blanking period - my AF and occasional tachycardia started to improve after about 4 months. I think I just have to live with the ectopics though, which is manageable. Flecainide helps, but I've decided to cut out any rhythm control drugs until (hopefully never) ectopics start to really impact my life.

hi John thank you for sharing your exp. I have had occasional PACs before the ablation but were asymptomatic to them. Now after the ablation for SVT, 9.5 weeks into blanking period and i feel them more. I am so angry at my EP because he recommended the ablation, had i known i’d be having these PACs and tachycardias i wouldnt have done it. Praying to God they go away.

What does he say about It?

he says he didnt cause it. It was an underlying condition and that it would have occurred at some point later on. I am so angry at him and his nurses for all these issues.

I had an ablation in the spring this year and still have a heavy burden of various arrythmias but I'm not that bothered as long as they're not AF.

After wearing a monitor a few months ago I learned I have ectopics in both the upper and lower chambers.

Yeah, they drum away and sometimes get a bit wearing, but they're harmless and they don't make me feel ill, dizzy and devoid of energy like my persistent AF did. After having arrythmias for 3 decades or so they don't frighten me. I'm not on any medication and am just delighted to get my life back!

hi, thank you for sharing. They didnt prescribe anything for the tachys and ectopics? A bit surprised or was there another reason for your cardio not to give any meds?

No prescription, and I wouldn't want anything, unless there's a significant downturn in my symptoms.

I don't really care about the arrythmia as long as I feel okay. Yes, it would be nice to have a Rolex ticking quietly in my chest instead of a jazz drummer on LSD, but as long as I can tolerate that and avoid using powerful drugs with inevitable side effects then I will.
