I have been taking flecnide for 5 months . I take 50 x a day, with bisprolol. My address I has stopped. I am not sure of side effects of taking flecnide long term. Has anyone taken it long term?

Hi

I’ve been taking flecainde 100mg twice a day for for about 2 years with no side effects that I’m aware of.

I’ve also been taking verapamil 180mg once a day for about 3 years. I do perspire more these days but I’m not sure if it’s from the above medications

Very rarely get ectopics now so I’m happy about that fingers crossed.

Best wishes Marty.

Hi Marty Not sure if we’ve talked about this before but I’ve been really happy with Flecainide for a year but like you I perspire more especially on exercise when sweat just runs down my face and messes up my hair too🤣Small price to pay for no ectopics. Mentioned it to Cardiologist and he said no-one had ever mentioned it as a side effect. Perhaps it’s very very rare!😊

Thanks for getting back.

It’s hard to say if it’s the flecainde causing the extra perspiration but for ectopic relief it’s definitely worth it.

These ectopics can cause me to feel so awful.

The flecainde has been a blessing.

Good morning, you will find helpful information regarding medication including Bisoprolol and Flecainide in our AF Drug Information booklet api.heartrhythmalliance.org... As with all ongoing prescribed medications, you should receive regular medication reviews to ensure it is providing the necessary protection at the suitable dose

Thanks for the reply

That’s so true I’ll take the extra perspiring for far fewer ectopics they make me feel weak and really strange in the head feeling.

Hard to explain the way they effect me but just awful and not with it the flecainde has been a blessing.

They can be very debilitating and frightful for us.
