Last Chance to Preserve Critical Catheter Ablation Access for AFIB Patients.

Recently we alerted you to a proposed draconian 40% cut in CMS payments to electrophysiologists (EPs) for performing AF catheter ablations. As previously mentioned, these cuts would cause long term catastrophic impact to atrial fibrillation patients in need of life saving catheter ablation treatment-and right at a time when the number of AF patients is expected to double.by 2030.

Already 1 out 10 people have atrial fibrillation, making atrial fibrillation more prevalent that all cancers combined! If payment cuts precede, this huge disincentive will have disastrous results for AF patients and their loved ones resulting in the following:

• Existing EPs will be reluctant to undertake catheter ablations as it will not be cost efficient for their time. Thus, fewer will be performed thereby less patients being offered this life-changing treatment.

• AF catheter ablations will be harder to get and waiting lists will become longer and longer. This will be a massive disservice to AF patients by making access to ablations much more difficult.

• The low reimbursement rates will result in some EPs completely abandoning this procedure, which will further

lengthen waiting times for the remaining few offering this treatment – again detrimental to people living with AF.

For the sake of your loved ones, friends, and colleagues-make a difference-TAKE ACTION NOW!

Voice Your Concern Directly to Congress

The comment period to voice our concerns with Medicare has now closed. Many of you joined us and shared your perspectives, concerns, and appeals to Medicare-thank you! Now- the future of catheter ablation lies in the hands of Congressional influence.

Please take a moment to join Arrhythmia Alliance, AF Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society, and other concerned parties, once again, by taking a few moments to urge our national leaders to preserve funding for cardiac ablation payments.

Simply click here to be directed to our website where you can download, print, and sign a letter to our Federal governmental leader:- Speaker of the House, Hon.- Nancy Pelosi: Senate Majority Leader, Hon. Charles Schumer; House Minority Leader, Hon. Kevin McCarthy, and Senate Minority Leader, Hon. Mitch McConnell leaders. There, you will also find a letter with instructions for sending a similar letter to your specific, House and Senate Representatives
