Had my pm in 2020, March 2nd had it repositioned . On and off all all day today every so often I keep feeling a fairly strong tap /thump where my pm is , I’m used to feeling the tapping when the pm run its checks every day but that’s only for 20 seconds then it stops completely . Strange sensation that’s not stopping .

Hi Westie

I hope you’re feeling more comfortable today.

I haven’t experienced your symptoms with my PM. It probably doesn’t help all that much to suggest it, but contact your cardiology department for reassurance, especially mindful that you had the repositioning only last month.

Are you familiar with the Pacemaker UK Facebook group? Please join if you haven’t already. You’ll receive a warm welcome and lots of support from fellow pacers. A quick search of group posts tells me that your question has been asked several times (receiving an answer similar to mine).

Best wishes, Paul.

Could a lead be dislodged?

I’m hoping not, I had a lead dislodge a few days after having my pacemaker and the pain I had then was much worse and my symptoms now don’t feel the same as when that happened . I was seen in hospital last week and the chest X-ray was ok so hopefully it’s nothing to worry over .
