My 24 son who is Autistic (high functioning) was diagnosed with ARVC 3 years ago after collapsing while swimming. Forever thankful to the amazing resus team.
Looking for tips when flying with this condition. Our last flight he got very light headed and was not feeling good. The crew were fantastic give him oxygen, apple juice then lay him flat. From which he was ok. Prior to this he never had any issues. This has knocked his confidence a little in flying.. (he's flown 6 times prior to this withbthis condition )
He was on 5mg bisoprolol then, he's now down to 3.75mg and takes this every morning. Just looking for any , tips or suggestions that coukd prevent this from occurring again..
Thank you 😊

I am an 87 year old female who has chronic heart failure. I have AFib so cardio implanted a Pacemaker and I have a mechanical mitral valve. Among my meds I take 5mg of Bisoprolol every morning plus Losartan 100mg to aid my BP. AFib attacks are not pleasant as breathlessness occurs. I am replying because Health Unlocked asked me to help. I wonder if your son suffers nervousness when flying because I do 8.5 hours flights to the Caribbean twice a year and am careful to take Bisoprolol on the days I fly. I really think you should consult your doctor about this problem. I just have the experience of taking Bisoprolol for many years without any problems. I hope your son can overcome this problem.
Thanks for your input, it's very reassuring that you can manage these flights with no incidents. Have shown your reply to my son and he is feeling more confident about flying.
I just don't want him to have another bad experience of flying.
Do you do anything differently on the flights to help your condition.
