My gp wanted to send me to hospital to be seen in ambulatory emergency care , I’ve been sent there many times and their priority is to rule out blood clots and when they know i don’t have one then Ive been sent home with no answers as to what is causing my problems . Everything was ok, bp etc but as I’ve started getting chest pain and a faster heart rate than I usually get when I’m walking up hill she wants me checked over . Today I had no one to collect my daughter from school so I’m going to a&e tomorrow as it’s hubby’s day off . Gp was quite happy for me to go tomorrow , problem is that when I go to hospital everything is always ok because I’ve been sitting resting . I’m quite sure they’ll test for a blood clot then send me home when that’s ruled out . How do I get them to do something about how I feel walking up hills?

Chest pain but only when walking up hill
I visited my GP in 2010 with exactly the same problem and was referred to hospital within 2 weeks where I was seen and had an angiogram some while later. They diagnosed angina as they found a small restriction in an artery which didn't need treatment other than statins, dispersible aspirin and a recommendation to take cod lives oil capsules every day, which I have ever since. I asked at the time wether the small restriction was enough to cause pain and was assured it was. I had a GT spray for the symptoms. Everyone is different of course but you could try asking if you could at least have something for the pain. I have had other heart problems in the last couple of years but the angina has eased and my cholesterol levels have been OK for years. You could ask about an angiogram too, I would certainly try and find out a bit more about the cause. A faster heartbeat with exercise is normal but I was told any chest pain should be checked out Hope this helps..
