Red wine and ectopics?

I am a moderate drinker of red wine and usually have a couple of modest glasses with my dinner. However, in addition to on and off (anxious?) ectopics, I now notice they are beginning after consuming the wine with my dinner. Does anyone suffer the same problem?

I had the same problem after ablation.

Stopping alcohol and caffeine completely effected a full cure.

Hope you improve, ectopics are at least a nuisance and not good at all long term by my experience. I have been able to resume winter sports, sailing and fell walking since.

Yes, the common consensus seems to be it is sulphites in wine that cause the ectopic heart beats, you could try a sulphite free wine or as I had to, you may just have to knock alcohol on the head. I also gave up caffeine and noticed a marked improvement. I also find a very large meal or consuming too much sugar had the same effect, so I avoid both now.

Yes the culprits seem to be, a large dinner meal, sugary jubes, (more recently) that extra glass of wine however not my espresso!

Just a thought, my pvcs are usually triggered by wind. It helped when I stopped drinking a can of lager at night (1 can contains 1 1/2 cans of gas) and being careful to stop swallowing air while drinking hot tea and coffee. I now drink red wine but don't swish it round my mouth as this makes me swallow more air.

If you can do it,the best thing is to try my posting 3 days ago.

Am now taking “fully reacted” magnesium taurate which seems to be helping a great deal.
