it is important to see your G.P. There are so many causes of palpitations, they can be very unpleasant and scary. kindest wishes, Dee

If you are in the UK it is quite possible that you wont be prescribed baby aspirin since NIICE no longer recommend it for AF and aspirin only has its uses as an antiplatelet.

I was given aspirin in 2008 when i had my stroke, i was put onto Clopidogrel after the TIA in 2015.

Hi, I note that you are on Clopidogrel, which was also prescribed to my wife after she suffered a TIA in 2014, following a car accident. Do you now get large amounts of bruising and blood 'blisters'?

As far as the Arrhthymia is concerned, your GP should refer you to an EP, these people are specialists in the electronics of the heart, and may well be able to offer a solution to your problem

Hi, Hope your Wife is well.

I get a few bruises but not a lot and no blood blisters , maybe your wife should see her GP to get it checked.

Best wishes to you and your Wife.

Thank you for your kind wishes. My wife has polymyalgia and takes a high dose of steroids, and these, coupled with the other drugs she takes to reduce the unwanted side-effects of the steroids, have meant that the Clopidogrel is only one element in a cocktail of medications. The TIA has served to aggravate the situation, but she sees her GP on a regular basis. He is also concerned about the effect the drugs are having with regard to the bruising, and is talking about her seeing a rheumatologist to find alternative therapies. So, fingers crossed!

I hope that things can be resolved soon for your Wife and yourself it must be an awful worry for you both.

It certainly makes my little glitch seem insignificant compared to what your selves have to deal with on a daily basis, i wish you both well.

That is so kind of you. We do have a full and interesting life, we were very fortunate that, whilst the car was a write-off, we have overcome most of the problems, go out with our friends and family etc. The only real downside is getting the insurance claim sorted ( still ongoing). I had a ICD fitted a couple of months after the accident, but no AF since. Like an old ox really lol

I will go to see the GP to get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

I have been having problems for over a year now but it is getting worse so now is probably the time to see my GP.

Get referred to an EP.

An Electrophysiologist - ie a cardiac consultant who specialises in the electrics of the heart.

Firstly it is not pleasant at all, but you really do need to see your GP to get referred to heart Consultant who can do more tests to come up with a diagnoses. Beta Blockers are given to treat the symptoms as well. Take care. X
