Meanwhile my chest tightness has become more frequent, sometimes with ache between shoulder blades and sometimes I almost pass out. My doctor sent me to the hospital last Monday but I was sent home none the wiser as the consultant said she couldn't help me without the results which were held at a different hospital. I'm constantly tired yet have great difficulty sleeping at night, and sick of this uncertainty. Just needed to complain as I don't want to worry people at home.
Hello. I have an arrhythmia and recen... - Heart Rhythm Diso...
Hello. I have an arrhythmia and recently had to wear an event monitor for a week. After almost a month the results have not come back.
I would go back to the gp and ask them to contact the hospital where the monitoring took place, also tell your gp that this is now worse and raise your anxieties, sometimes there is a communication breakdown between hospital and gps and this will perhaps get things moving. I'm sure your gp will check that you're ok and it could be your anxiety giving you these symptoms. Don't suffer in silence, ask for advise!
Good luck and I hope this is resolved quickly for you.
Thank you. I had decided to contact the hospital myself if I get no joy with my GP on Monday. I am due to start a new job soon and don't want to be passing out at work. I get suddenly tired, my blood pressure plummets and my chest discomfort is almost constant now. With my family history of heart desease I can't blame the GP for panicking and packing me off to hospital, but don't understand why my test results are taking so long. My arrhythmia was all over the place when I was wearing the event monitor so they obviously have some sort of record of what's going on with me. Thanks again.
No doubt you will have difficulty getting another apointment with gp so it means waiting. In the mean time just think if it was really a bad test you would have been asked to return for immediate care. Getting worked up will make condition worse. Wondered if gp had given you any short term medication for now.
I went back to my GP last Monday and he is chasing up the hospital. In the meantime I have had blood tested for Hypothyroid as it's over a year since my last test which was apparently borderline. I have no medication except aspirin and a spray for under the tongue. It just seems crazy that I've had to wait so long for test results that should have taken two to three weeks - my fear is that they've lost them! Figure it'll be new year before anything gets sorted now, but what the heck - it's only been going on since August! Thanks anyway for replying, a little reassurance goes a long way!
I had a blood test done a year or so ago and the hospital never got back to me. So eventually I asked why and they said the blood was fine so nothing to report!!!! It that wasn't a small town hospital, it was the New QE in Birmingham.
I was In a similar position, I had to wait a month for the results of Holter test. Now have to wait 5 months for cardiologist appointment. I could be dead by then!
Tell me about it ........! I waited two months for a monitor result, and am now waiting for another monitor as my symptoms have worsened. My GP said she would write to the consultant to ask for a monitor .........?? Are they not man enough to ask for one themselves. In the the end I rang the Cardiac nurse at Sheffield and she is asking the consultant ....... And so it goes on. I know just how you feel with fatigue etc. Keep going.
