after surgery last year to replace my aortic root, get a new aortic valve and replace my ascending aorta, Ive had a lot of bad luck and issues in recovery - and Im still feeling unwell and not right.
However, from a recent consultation letter referring to the most recent CT scan a comment in it from the surgeon says that repeated CT aortography shows ‘thickening of the ascending aorta is unresolved’.
How can this be if I had my ascending aorta replaced 18 months ago?
Is this what could be or part of why I still have alot of ongoing symptoms and issues?

I think this is something you need to ask your cardiologist. I have just found out that my ascending aorta is still dilating post AVR last year, the tricuspid and mitral valves are now leaking, (not so pre-op), there is turbulence and resistance of blood flow through the new valve and the predicted lessening of thickening of the left ventricle hasn't happened. It is a shock when pre-op you were told all these things should improve and then find out afterwards that the expected improvements have not happened and in fact deteriorated further and you remain as symptomatic or worse than previously.
I'm as bewildered as you as to how all this can have happened and I'm still trying to get replies to my questions and find out what the way ahead is now. I hope you get some answers too.
