lived experience of TAVI

Based on my recent lived experience of TAVI whilst the clinical procedure was minimally invasive the psychological trauma is extremely traumatic. Communication with patients was abysmal and MDT was a misnomer because the team was entirely cardiology based.

'Minimally invasive' TAVI procedure as stated but in agreement that shared decision making along with your preferences and wishes could have been better. I did not have all this with my Out of Hospital Cardiac arrest along with 2 weeks in a induced coma and discharged with a dianogsis of Heart Failure and ICD implanted with a leaking Mitral Valve grade 1 so all good, I did not have the opportunity to speak to the surgeons & medical staff but greatful for keeping me alive.
