Since having my hysterectomy in May, I've developed new pains all over my body and arthritis symptoms in my hands (currently under investigation to see if it is).
Just wondered has anyone else experienced this months after surgery or is my body being strange!?!

Hi there - yes like you after my total hysterectomy where I had everything removed including ovaries and cervix I began having more aches and pains particularly a significant pain in the shin of right leg and pains in my wrists and thumb joints. I also developed problems with my bowels and had to have a colonoscopy to rule out cancer which thankfully it wasn’t. Can I ask if you had yr ovaries removed with hysterectomy and were you post menopausal before your operation because I was? It may be significant if you did have yr ovaries removed?
Hello. Thank you for sharing your story. My ovaries are still there and I'm not menopausal as I know of yet. I had a hysterectomy due to having adenomyosis. But it's interesting to hear others who are experiencing pains.
Hi I had my Hysterectomy in June, I have osteoarthritis in most of my joints and have noticed that I am jn a lot more pain, but I just put it down to having arthritis. I have been getting pains in my tummy but gave been told this is normal by my GP. Also I have been suffering badly with back ache since my op pain I have tried both naproxen and ibuprofen but they do not help
Hiya. Naproxen is the worst, isn't it?! It's always the first pain relief for everything. I get pains in my tummy area too, but I was diagnosed and treated for endometriosis and adenomyosis (hence the hysterectomy) so I'm aware that it could be that flaring up. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me your pains as I feel as though I'm not the only one going through this. x
are you taking any medication that can cause this? I was given medication for asthma a few years ago and got all that, the doctors would insist I was wrong and the medication could not do that, even though it was well documented in many places on reputable websites online. id never have taken it if id known beforehand . i am having a full hysterectomy soon.
