So I'm about six weeks post hysterectomy and it's the best thing that's ever happened. No more endo or adenmyosis, pain free at last. However thanks to my employer I'm having to move departments at work and it's possible this will involve plenty of heavy lifting. What's people's advice on lifting? I've been told that I'll be more likely to have prolapse after a full hysterectomy, I'm guessing lifting won't help this?
I'm not happy about the job situation but I want to make sure I do things properly.
Many thanks

Hi Meeshka, I wouldn't go lifting anything heavy for quite a while. It can actually take up to a year to completely heal on the inside with a hysterectomy. Glad you're dong well.
hi meeshka. Heavy lifting will be a definate no no. Have u already started back at work? If not you can explain to your gp and they can put a restriction on your fit for work note saying no heavy lifting (possibly over a certain weight). You really need to look after yourself at this crutial time in your recovery otherwise u will end up causing problems for yourself long term. The more sensible you are now, the best chance you will have at a pain/ surgical free future. x
